Julia Walters

Growing up in rural Michigan, Julia Walters was surrounded by vast countryside. She decided to trade in the open skies and quiet wilderness for the lively city of Boston when she was accepted into the Art Institute of Boston. Though her surroundings have changed her work still pays homage to a fascination with the natural world by rendering animals in lush outdoor environments, or compositions of clean line work depicting plant life and abstracted landscapes. She strives to find the simple and essential roots of every piece by experimenting with many different mediums and the unique expressive qualities that each offers.
